Magma Design Group is honored to receive the 2011 New England Wild Flower Society Landscape Design Award! As described by the NEWFS, the award was first awarded in 2007 and “…is given to a New England-based individual or firm specializing in landscape architecture or design, in recognition of a long-term commitment to the use of native plants in exceptional or distinctive landscape compositions.”

See the project that won the award by clicking HERE. This project focused on the use of native plant material in a woodland garden. Paths throughout the garden invite the user to explore the garden and find treasures large and small (like the Cornus canadensis that is slowly weaving its way through the woodland floor). Additional color and texture are provided by a mixture of ornamental shade perennials. The result is a beautiful woodland garden that provides year-round interest.

Magma will be the third recipient of this prestigious award and will be recognized the NEWFS in November at their annual meeting.
