Featured Project - Poolside Living

« Back to Project List

Project Goal: To provide a coastal recreational retreat for this busy family.

Project Description: A beautiful coastal view combined with an awkward shaped property lot made for a challenging but very rewarding project. Magma was responsible for not only the design and construction, but also for the required coastal permitting, town variance, and building permits. The central features of this project are the pool, the outdoor kitchen, and the bay side patio. Due to the lot configuration and our client's desire for an automatic pool cover, the pool is a simple rectangle that fits perfectly into the space.  A travertine patio surrounds the pool and stays cool on the feet. The outdoor kitchen is a great space, providing room for a grill and double burner, refrigerator, pizza oven, and plenty of countertop space for food preparation. A seating bar facing the pool is a great way for guests to dine and still be a part of the fun. Orange is a favorite color of the client, so orange accents are found throughout the project showing up in the plants, pool tile, and outdoor furniture. A separate patio facing the bay provides a great spot to enjoy the view. The gas fired fire pit here makes this a wonderful gathering area at night. Plants throughout the project are a mix of native and ornamental plants and provide a connection to the coastal buffer zone that makes up a large portion of this site.
