Project Goal: To create a welcoming new entrance into the residence and to prevent an existing backyard slope from further erosion.

Project Description: The front yard design includes informal gardens, circular stairs, and retaining walls. The use of cobblestones throughout the design help to unify all the elements, and a circular scuplture provides year-round interest with no maintenance. In the back yard, a colorful blend of quarried bluestone, sandstone, and New England fieldstone were used to construct a set of terraces which allow the homeowner easy access to the existing woodlands behind the property while also preventing erosion of the hillside. Simple plantings emphasize the stonework and create a low-maintenance garden.
