Project Goal: To transform what was a bland backyard into a space that expressed the individuality of the clients.
Project Description: Using the shape of a circle as the inspiration for this design, four distinct spaces were created; a place for dining; a place for cooking; a focal point; and a transition area. Inspired by the client's insight, a custom-built pergola adds a vertical element to the dining area which helps to keep the space comfortable in relation to the height of the residence. The final personalizing piece is the entrance gate custom-designed and built for the project by Jim DeSilvestro (http://steelartisan.com).
